We built this brand for someone who stopped answering the phone. So we took it back.

The brief was one of those ideas that gets you out of bed excited. A digital platform where girls could design their own dress for their quinceañera or special occasion — not by picking from a catalog, but by building something that was truly theirs.

That's where Okori came from. The name draws from the Japanese word "hokori," meaning pride. And pride was the whole point. A tool for users to take ownership of the process, celebrate what they love about themselves, and design a piece that reflects it back.

Visually, we found our language in the act of making. A single thread becoming form, flowing into a lettering system built on continuity and movement. Mint tones that feel elegant without being cold. Something fresh, feminine, and full of intention.

We believed in this one.

And then the people who hired us stopped calling. Days became weeks. Weeks became months. The project was abandoned by the company that was supposed to bring it to life.

So we made a decision. We pulled Okori off the hard drive and brought it back into the light. Not as a perfect case study, because it isn't one. But as an honest one. Because this work cost us time, effort, and real care, and it deserved better than a folder no one opens.

We're claiming it as ours. It always was.
