A beer born from a misunderstood chapter of Mexican history, where "betrayal" becomes the most honest thing a brand can say.
La Cervecería Santa Cruz was born in the golden fields of Tlaxcala, in the shadow of a ruined hacienda. A new beer in a category full of noise, with an old story nobody had bothered to tell right.
The first thing we did was dig into the history of the land. And that's where we found it.
For centuries, the Tlaxcaltecas have been painted as traitors for allying with the Spanish during the conquest. But Mexico didn't exist yet. What existed were rival civilizations, survival strategies, and a very different world. The "betrayal" was a myth built entirely on hindsight.
That realization became the brand's manifesto. If going back to traditional European brewing methods makes you a traitor, fine. Santa Cruz doesn't chase trends or eccentric recipes. It just makes the best beer possible. Call it betrayal if you want. They call it staying true to the craft.
From there, a complete brand identity took shape: naming, logo, illustration, packaging, photography and tone of voice, all anchored to that story. A visual language rooted in Tlaxcala's landscape and the weight of its history.
La Cervecería Santa Cruz went to market carrying its story on every label. And in a category where everyone is trying too hard, that kind of honesty hits different.
