In today’s fast-paced world, eating well and living well have become increasingly hard to achieve. Between stress, rush, and distance, nourishing ourselves has stopped being an act of joy and become just another task on the list.

Although our heart is in Houston, Texas, our story is deeply rooted in Zacatecas, Mexico. In this context, Nanu was born with a clear purpose: to offer wholesome food that never compromises the comforting flavors of home. A refuge for those who care for their nutrition and their bodies.

Our creative challenge was to bring to life a brand that could express that feeling of a long-distance embrace, a brand that wraps you in warmth with every bite. We designed a visual system inspired by the popular graphics found in Mexican kitchens: vibrant color, texture, warmth, hand-drawn typography, and a lively aesthetic reminiscent of the street stands, diners, and homes where the most authentic meals are served.

For the naming, we chose “Nanu,” a word from Mixtec that means “to hug oneself.” More than a reference to health and heritage, it becomes an act of self-love. Each package, true to its name, proudly embraces its tortillas and its legacy.

Every design decision was made with intention and respect: honoring our Mexican roots and embracing new ways to include wellness in our daily lives, without falling into stereotypes.

Today, Nanu is much more than a food brand: it’s a family companion for everyday life. A reminder that feeding ourselves can be a meaningful connection with our roots, our family, and ourselves.

Because “Nanu” means to hug oneself and that’s what we want every person to feel: that eating can be an act of love, identity, and healing.

Nanu is the heritage that nourishes. A brand that brings us back to our center.
